Borderline

All I’ve been given,
All I take
And still the same
Missing space,
Or absent whole

Whatever needs to leave won’t go
Whatever needs to be won’t come

I try for both and hope for one,
Push or pull for either end,
The side with none or everything

I see myself dying
Between peace and pain
In a faceless phase
No heaven or hell

If I stay living lost like this—
Spilling out, and pouring in
But never all the way
